The spring is in full bloom here in Portland, and I’m still craving more blossoms. I’m not alone. Designers have dubbed this the “Season of the Flowers,” and if you ask me, there are few better places to place petals than at a beautiful woman’s feet–or on her shoes. Yesterday, Baltimore Examiner writer Carole Langrall posted a great slideshow of flowery shoes on the runway. Inspired by this lovely collection, I’ve gathered a few Shoefly pairs that feature flowers. Enjoy, and may this spring mark your full blossoming into style!

The Northwest’s spring weather changes as often as an SNL cast member, alas and alack. This week, Portland’s forecast has seen hail, rain, and sun– often in the same day. With such changeable weather, I can’t very well bring out the summer sandals yet. I’ve been yearning for the full-foot-exposure days of summer, when my feet will finally have the chance to escape their (admittedly adorable) prison of fully-enclosed shoes. Is there some middle road between winter boots and summer sandals?

Easter has come and gone, but I’m longing for the continuation of spring shoes. This time of year, Mary Janes seem to pop up with the tulips. But just as early spring can’t last forever, Mary Janes are soon too cloying and cutesy for the breezy days of May and June.
