Carrie: Can I have your shoes and maintain my budget?

Her writing gig and seemingly unlimited credit allowed Carrie Bradshaw to spend $40,000 on shoes, but I must limit my shoe habit to my bank account.  As much as I adore seeing my own feet outfitted in strappy Monolos, I also hate seeing my savings dwindle while my credit card bills rise.  Is there a happy compromise?  Is it possible to satisfy such intense shoe cravings while controlling spending?

How To Find Comfortable Shoes: Fitting Tips For Heels

Over the last three days, Shoeflyer has featured Gentle Souls shoes. Featuring such a comfort-oriented shoe maker has brought to mind the importance of finding wearable shoes. Sure, I’ll climb onto a pair of fierce heels for a couple of hours at the show, but I’ll probably sink into the tub and treat my feet at the end of the night. Most days, my shoes are certainly chic, but they’re also comfortable. My demand for comfort arose from a couple of years as a shoe saleswoman in Gottschalk’s during high school.

Spring is in the air, and here in the Northwest, people are suffering from the Spring Ache, a locale-specific cousinGlitter Flat by All Black at Shoefly to Spring Fever. Spring Ache often strikes in February, as bulbs start to poke through soaked soil. If you’re longing for blossoms to bloom and skies to clear, you’re experiencing the Spring Ache.  After spending last summer in perpetually sunny Reno, I have an especially bad case of Spring Ache this year. Fortunately, I know of several cures for this seasonal malady. My favorite: FASHION. And with NY Fashion week just behind us, designers are pumping out new styles faster than you can say daffodil.
