Sasha: 'Thumbs up for J. Crew!' By John McNab.

After months of speculation among fashion writers, the Obamas exceeded high style expectations in sleek inaugural ensembles. Over the next four (or eight?) years, Michelle Obama will juggle multiple roles as mom, attorney, first lady, and trend-setter extraordinaire. Knowing the Obamas, she’ll pull it all of with a calm, gracious demeanor. Here at Shoeflyer, we’ll be following the first lady’s foot fashion, and keeping an eye on the catwalks to track her influence.

Shoes vs. Sex

In an article from about the science behind natural highs, I read about one woman’s addiction to shoes. Gracienne Myers admits that buying shoes gets her heart racing faster than when she has sex — an infatuation that must destroy her husband’s ego, and his wallet.

Sneaker socks

Every now and again a woman’s feet need a little extra protection, particularly when crammed into a pair of designer high heels. You know what we’re talking about, that chaffed and blistered heel just looks too good to give up just because it causes "a little pain and discomfort." If you’re not one for panty hose, and white gym socks just won’t fit into your favorite heel, you might consider having a little fun with, what we are calling, sneaker socks.Sneakersocks

More running on heels

In case you don’t remember, last week we blogged extensively on the high heel running races taking Eastern Europe by storm. In our opinion this has to be one of the worst ideas known to fashion. Funny? Yes. But extremely silly and dangerous nonetheless.
