Those lucky individuals are called shoe buyers, and a whole flock of ‘em will descend on Las Vegas for the World Shoes Accessories show from July 29th through August 2nd. How I wish I could be there! The world of shoelacing has a clear expert: Ian Fieggen, author of Laces. This guy is obsessed. His website, shoe-lacing.com, offers an impressive array of wild and wacky shoelacing techniques. Ian’s prowess is well known across the web, and for good reason– his site is the authoritative resource on creative lacing. Fans have sent him inspirational photos showing their lacing masterpieces. His site is often featured on sneaker sites like Sneaker Freaker. Even print media turns to Ian as master of lacing–Wired magazine‘s How To section has featured several of their favorite designs, including a technique to help runners find a more comfortable tie.
