Sexy Saturday: Fierce Japanese Schoolgirl

Yesterday’s post rejoiced in the return of the naughty British schoolgirl.  But how do other cultures interpret the appeal of the young, innocent girl?  One of my favorite twists on this classic theme comes from Japan, where schoolgirl style is described as “Elegant Gothic Lolita Fashion.” The Japanese certainly know how to pack a poetic description into their monikers.

New York Fashion Week in review

Like 1980s fashion, the New York edition of Fashion Week has come and gone. But, unlike 80s-style leggings and neon jump suits, the styles showcased at Fashion Week NY aren’t a glimpse in the past. Instead, they are a taste of fashion future.

MyShape.com – Changing the way you shop online for clothes

There’s a new clothing store online, well new to me at least,
and it’s making online shopping easy and less stressful for women around the
globe. It’s called Myshape.com and no, it’s not a subsidiary of Myspace.com.
However, it does share some qualities the social networking phenomenon, most in
respect to Myshape’s customization and profiling elements. In short,

Mismatched shoe trend in Europe

Our fashion trendsetting friends across the pond have done it again. I’m talking about the newest European fashion trend, asymmetrical shoe wear, the art of mismatching shoes. Much to my surprise this is nothing new. Fashion designers have apparently been experimenting with this for decades, but now the asymmetrical shoe trend is gaining ground – mostly in Italy and Spain.

Designer or Non Designer Shoe Challenge

One of our favorite shoe blogs, Shoewawa regularly features a competition called the Cheap or Chic Challenge. The Cheap or Chic challenge is a chance for designer shoe enthusiasts to prove their shoe smarts. Shoewawa challenges its readers to identify which one of two pairs is a designer shoe and which one isn’t. In this week’s competition both shoes are cute. But one retails for $100 more than the other. Can you determine which shoe that is?
