Are women’s shoes recession-proof?

BradshawI read somewhere this week that the only things recession-proof were wine and condoms. Go figure. Though, the author did also make a convincing argument for women’s shoes. In fact, she wrote of a woman who owned 90 pairs of shoes — obviously not in need of any more — making a conscious effort to cut back on her spending during a troubled economy. Despite her lofty aims, however, she’s admittedly still in the market for more shoes. And her only excuse: shoes are the one thing you have to look at all day — everything else needs a mirror. Brilliant, if you ask me. Now, about my next pair of shoes

After hearing that story, if you own less than 90 pairs of shoes, you have my permission to splurge a little. In fact, here are a few pairs I’ve had my eye on:

Twins Meisi

These Twins Meisi by Camper are perfect for when I need to feel a little balance in my life — they definitely have that yin-yang ¬†aura about them, don’t they?

Desiree

For me, Desiree by Faryl Robin walks the fine line between elegance and edge.

Ray

Finally, Ray by Pink Studio brings me back to simplicity with style.

Need more suggestions in your quest to acquire those 90 pairs of shoes? Try Shoefly.
