Your Guy and GPS Shoes — Too Much?
Ladies, have you ever wanted to know exactly where and what your man was up to? Well, your chance to keep tabs on him may be just over the horizon. I recently found a number of reports detailing a new innovation in the world of footwear: GPS shoes. No joke. The shoes are being developed to keep track of Alzheimer’s patients, but who knows where the concept will go from there…
The reports said that a designer of orthopedic footwear and a GPS tracking manufacturer announced an agreement to develop GPS-embedded shoes for seniors with dementia. They formed their partnership to “enable loved ones and caretakers to know where the Alzheimer’s patient is at all times, with almost-certainty that his or her shoes will not be removed.”
The technology will enable an alert to be sent to a mobile phone or computer when and where a predetermined boundary is crossed by the patient. The new footwear is set to be tested later this year.
Sadly, Shoefly isn’t presently carrying any GPS-embedded shoes at the moment, and there aren’t any plans (yet) to do so, but we are playing host to a variety of new men’s designer shoes. Even if you can’t keep track of him 24/7 just yet, you can make him look good in great shoes.
