Shoes for your Personal Metamorphis

During NY Fashion Week, the New York Times offered a mesmerizing series of blogs showing models transitioning from one ensemble to the next. The Gray Lady’s photographers captured each model before she strutted onto the catwalk.  This method drives home how each model could sport a dozen different designs over the course of Fashion Week. Before reading these posts, I didn’t fully appreciate just how harried and fast-paced such events can be.  I’m addicted to watching each model transition from casual to evening to adventurous, all with a smile.

If you’d like to transition as gracefully between your daily activities, look for well-made, comfortable shoes with a touch of personality.  After securing the basics (black cocktail dress, black pumps), find shoes that will complement all your favorite outfits.  The best metamorphosis shoes add a punch of pizzazz to already adorable ensembles.

One approach is to think about your favorite color schemes, and find shoes with matching accents.  For instance, I often pair red and black to feel powerful and chic.  I have a plethora of pieces in these shades which are easily matched to keep my look fresh.  Gentle Souls’ Scene It, above, marries red and black for a beautiful union.  This would match any of my blood red and night black pieces perfectly.
