Sexy Saturday: Fierce Japanese Schoolgirl
Yesterday’s post rejoiced in the return of the naughty British schoolgirl. But how do other cultures interpret the appeal of the young, innocent girl? One of my favorite twists on this classic theme comes from Japan, where schoolgirl style is described as “Elegant Gothic Lolita Fashion.” The Japanese certainly know how to pack a poetic description into their monikers.
My favorite source for Japanese Fierce Schoolgirl is Metamorphose Temps De Fille. I can’t get enough of their scalloped edges and shockingly bright colors. Nothing is done halfway in their shoes section. Every choice packs a punch strong enough to sustain an entire outfit. Given the rather monotone palate at this spring’s NY Fashion Week, my eyes are hungry to feast on such sumptuous colors.
If these knee-high boot beauties are too strong for your style, check out Metamorphose’s gold Flower Mary Janes shoes, with a removable clip of flowers. A touch of glam gold is definitely in this season.
Or, if prefer to shop this side of the Pacific, check out Shoefly’s Gabby flats, by Gentle Souls:
