Twelve Days of Shoe Shopping #6: Geese/Hunters for Kids
On the sixth day of Christmas,
My true love gave to me,
Six geese a-laying… Sheesh, will we ever get away from this avian theme? I’m beginning to think that this song inspired Hitchcock’s “The Birds.” (And I bet anyone who had to hear it repeatedly in a retail environment would be able to confirm its dangerous effect on the mind.) Today’s gift is one of geese.
Why Geese Don’t Make Good Gifts
- The wrapping challenges are mind-blowing. And you thought it was difficult to wrap a puppy. At least a puppy doesn’t have a beak.
- No one off of a farm knows how to properly slaughter and pluck a geese anymore. (Seriously, what are they teaching in the schools these days?)
- HONK! HONK! HONK! Now imagine that outside your window, ALL YEAR LONG. All geese and no sleep makes Jack a very irritable boy.
So, rather than giving six long-neck honkers, I recommend galoshes for your favorite goslings. Galoshes are a practical present which will ease the mind of any floor-cleaning adult nearby. But they can also be fun– Kids Hunter Original galoshes, shown above, come in fun spotlight colors and will facilitate hours of playing in the rain or snow. They’re perfect for snowy days like today.
