New Yorkers Find Heelacious Ways To Earn Attention
Today’s New York Times features a fascinating photographic study of Manhattan foot fashion. Photographer Bill Cunningham hit the streets to document what fashion-forward New Yorkers (and their well-heeled dogs) are stepping into these days.
The resulting collection of artistic, funky designs includes mismatching shoes akin to Campers Twins, a cornucopia of shooties, and attention-grabbing heels. One fashionista sports a real pistol of a heel, while another’s heels point straight back, rather than down, in a foot tromp l’oeill.
After spotting this lively collection of heels, Mr. Cunningham offers some advice: “Why not show some imagination, you know, and have some fun with fashion. Don’t be depressed by the stock market. You just jump right in and do something imaginative yourself.”
The Amelia shown above is a great way to “have fun with fashion,” as Mr. Cunningham suggests. With those red-hot ties lacing up your gams, it’s will be hard not to have fun.
