Get Your Groove on with ’70s Styles This Winter
If this season’s punk/bad girl look isn’t your thing, why not choose to ride the burgeoning wave of 1970s style, along with increasingly popular roller derbies and hoopdie rides? Bohemian-rock-chic is back, as designers are bringing the look of the ‘70s into the new millennium. As Elle UK reports, Milan’s catwalks were peppered with such ‘70s styles as gathered materials, high boots, fringes, and floral prints with feminine details like flowing sleeves and ruffle fronts.
Shoe trends are fondly remembering the ’70s as well, when high platforms and funky colors ruled the disco floor. The Cover Up by Poetic License at right harkens to the early ‘70s, when the futuristic style of the ‘60s was lifted to new heights. With a playfully sleek strap wrapping around a nearly 4-inch heel and ending in a Velcro closure, the Cover Up is an elevated, updated Mary Jane with plenty of personality. And for fashion chameleons, the Cover Up is a stunning addition to any glam-punk ensemble.
