Monolo Goes Flat
Perhaps at its heart, fashion is all about learning how to gracefully reinvent oneself, not only for the enjoyment of others, but also for one’s own entertainment and pleasure. Shoe guru Manolo Blahnik has exemplified that ideal lately– rumor has it that he’s now enamoured with flats, not his signature stilettos. As Nathalie Atkinson writes for the Weekend Post,
"British Vogue reports that the stiletto king has recently gone gaga for
graceful gamines (think Audrey Hepburn) who can work flatties. Maybe
that’s because Madame Sarkozy, Carla Bruni, wears them so well? Don’t
go, Manolo, the stiletto needs you!"
Looking to follow Manolo and emulate the French First Lady’s chic style? Check out the Cross Bay flat shown above. The Cross Bay’s flax seed arch support, deerskin lining, and subtle feminine style will lull you into amnesia about those (so cute, but so demanding!) sky-high stilettos in no time.
