Shoes and News: The Weekly Wrap-up

Every Monday morning we step into the office, grab a cup of coffee and scour the headlines to bring you the latest and greatest in the news of shoes and fashion.

A diet for shoe-holics—Did we need another excuse to buy shoes? Probably not, but this book gives you a great one. The shoe diet! Just when you think you’ve heard it all. As best we can tell, you reward yourself for losing
pounds by buying yourself new shoes. Hey, we can’t argue with that! Any
excuse to feel fabulous and buy fabulous shoes is good enough for us.

Sticker shock—Ever pick up a pair of shoes and reel is disbelief when you see the price? Yeah, we’ve all been there. Read this great article that discusses why the cost of shoes has risen even quicker than the cost of gas… but hey,we admit we’d rather buy a pair of shoes than a tank of gas any day!

9.3 million dollars in shoes—The U.S defense department just awarded an indefinite contract to
Weinbrenner Shoes to develop hot weather boots for troops stationed
overseas.

Size 11? Fear not!—We know how difficult it can be to find a great pair of shoes when you have larger feet, but fortunately, the tides are changing. With over a third of U.S. women currently wearing size nine or larger, designers are finally selling shoes in size 11-15. We couldn’t be happier!
