New York Fashion Week in review

Like 1980s fashion, the New York edition of Fashion Week has come and gone. But, unlike 80s-style leggings and neon jump suits, the styles showcased at Fashion Week NY aren’t a glimpse in the past. Instead, they are a taste of fashion future.

Lucky for us there are a number of bloggers and journalists making sure we’re not left in the dust. One of which being the ladies at Budget Fashionista, who’ve summed up some Spring fashion trends as determined by Fashion Week:

  • What’s In: Thin belts, head scarves, knee length pencil skirts, sequins, metallics, silk jersey and chiffon,
hats, clutches, orange, rose, lavender, green and finally, silver is the new neutral.
  • What’s Out: Wicker and raffia shoes, ultra short skirts and shorts, peasant skirts, jersey knits, babydoll dresses, lots of black and/or other dark colors and loud geometric prints.

Still not enough for your fashion palette? Check out‘s daily Fashion Week diary.
