Weekend in Review—shoes and news

It’s Monday again, so take a break from your work, fill up your second—or third—cup of java and enjoy this past weekend’s shoe and fashion news review:

  • Trunk shows going virtual—Trunk shows present a great opportunity for fashionistas to get their hands on designer fashion not yet available to the general public. In the past, trunk shows were hosted in discrete locations with limited access. Now, some of the big designer fashion retailers are moving their trunk shows online to increase pre-season sales and help create a buzz around new brands. The prices are still outrageous, but if you want something before anyone else, then you’ll have to pay the price.
  • How to find the best sneakers—Ever find yourself confused when trying to determine what type of sneaker best suits your athletic needs? Well, the good folks at the CBS "Early Show" recently put athletic shoe shopping into perspective by detailing a number of different types of shoes and the benefits associated with each. From walking, to jogging, to dancing and hiking there’s a shoe for you.
  • New fashion means bad news for reptiles—At least that’s what some fashion experts are saying about one of the new trends in fall fashion. From Jimmy Choo shoes to Zagliani handbags, fashion designer are working snake skin into their fall clothing and accessories lines.  This is great news for women who love scales on their feet and wrist, but horrible news for snakes all over the world.
