What has 840 pages, weighs 4.9 lbs, is larger than the average phone book, costs less than a double grande soy latte from Starbucks and contains the latest and greatest in Fall 2007 fashion? The answer… this month’s special edition of Vogue magazine. Some call it the perfect coffee table piece, while others hold it responsible for the largest tree massacre this decade. Nonetheless, if you’re a fan of fashion and can’t wait to see what’s hot for fall fashion trends, you should probably own Vogue’s epic fall fashion issue.
Considered by some, "the most beautiful issue of Vogue in years," it’s filled cover-to-cover with relevant fashion content and advertisements alike. However, you’ll have to parade through roughly 307 full-page advertisements before you get a single editorial. That said, Vogue might have done it right this time by making the ads, well… tolerable.
How can an advertisement be made tolerable, you ask. The answer is ShopVogue.tv, a website dedicated to furthering each advertising brands’ mission via original programming. Whether this initiative works or not is besides the point—it is an interesting concept regardless.
