Last Monday’s shoe and fashion review taught us that designer brands need to be careful about encouraging homicide with high heels, there are trendy shoes for infants, as well as rules to wearing denim. It’s a new week, and with the weekend behind us and another far from reach, it’s time for some fresh and fun shoe and fashion news review:
- Same shoe, different skin—That’s the skinny on Skins, Inc.: The next generation shoe company. Available only online—and in stores later this year—Skins is taking designer shoes to a whole new level … a comfortable new level, that is. Skins work on the premise of having one sturdy and comfy sole which fits into a number of different leather skins, thus creating a whole different pair of shoes altogether.
- Remembering Versace—Today marks the 10 year anniversary of the death of fashion juggernaut Gianni Versace. Versace’s life was celebrated by friends, family and colleagues with a specially-written ballet in Milan, Italy.
- Return of the gladiator—Nope … We aren’t talking about the 2000 Oscar award-winning film starring Russell Crow. Instead, we’re talking about shoes and sandals inspired by ancient Roman fashion. The revival of the once-popular style is on the rise, and celebrities and common folk alike are jumping on the gladiator sandal band-wagon; or should we say chariot?
