Weekend in Review—it’s all about the shoes

Good Monday, all. Because we’re so passionate about shoes, particularly designer shoes and the industry that supplies them, we scour the Web each morning so we can bring you latest designer shoe news and fashion insights. Unfortunately, we’re not always lucky enough to have news the caliber of NASCAR designer shoes to report on, but this weekend was close. This morning we were greeted with a plethora of great articles. Here’s a summary of things we felt were "blog worthy":

  • Have you ever wished you could adjust the height of your high heels? Now you can, thanks to a Philadelphia woman’s shoe concept: collapsible high heel shoes.
  • Shoes for Kids, a charitable organization, will kick off its fourth annual shoe drive. This year the organization is striving to gather upwards of 2,700 pairs of shoes for Charlotte, NC school children.
  • Athletic shoe leader, NIKE, says it will donate $6 million in footwear to help children get more active this summer.
  • Nip and tuck for your toes. Not happy with the way your feet look in strappy summer sandals and open-toed shoes? Cosmetic foot surgeries to correct less-than-desirable feet and toes are on the rise.
